There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Spyderpops antenna

Call Harvey. He has a nice antenna.
If it broke off close enough, use a socket to remove the base. Thread on the new one with a drop of blue locktite. Replace the rubber cover.
If it broke a bit high for the socket, clip it off short, then remove.
If you get in trouble, call. Joe

Dave, I also have a 2014RTS-SE6, and replaced my long antenna ( I broke mine, putting on my 1/2 cover)and replaced it with a short antenna( part # 710005084) I bought mine from Pitbull ( Springfield, MO) and I got 2 extra base antenna boots( part # 708300156).

Use a 7 mm deep socket wrench. Here is a picture of short antenna on my 2014RTS-SE6:New Radio Antenna on 2014RTS-SE6 002.jpg New Radio Antenna on 2014RTS-SE6 003.jpg New Radio Antenna on 2014RTS-SE6 001.jpg

Sorry I did not take any pictures before I put the new short antenna on. I like the antenna, radio stations are clear. Deanna

If you mean the AM/FM radio antenna, I will second the Walmart recommendation. Cheap and has worked great since installation a couple years ago.

I replaced mine with the short one from Spyder Pops ( Harvey) it's much nicer than the stock one and a lot cheaper too.

Antenna

I bought a antenna from Spyderpops. Wanted to go shorter so that placing cover on would be easier. I can't seem to be able to get the factory antenna off. Obviously there isn't wrong with original antenna so I don't want to bring antenna off just so I can use a socket for more leverage so anyone have a suggestion on how to get old one off.

the $10.00 walmart short rubber antenna works far better than the stock antenna and the cost cannot be beat.
i was surprised how great this antenna works

I also replaced mine with Spyderpop's. Works great. Since my original was not broken off, I used a 7mm ignition wrench instead.
Of a socket.

Good luck.

I drilled out the base and epoxied the antenna back in....works fine. Less than 1/2 inch shorter. Did not want to replace with a shorter one because I have a tall cb antenna on the other side. Need to match don't you know:)

I want to replace the antenna on a 2016 RT. It looks like the 7mm socket wont work since the base is different than on my 2011 model.

Do I just grab the rubber base with pliers and twist??

Thanks for the assist.
