Bring on the winter

Let me first start by saying that the best time for a drive is very early on a Sunday morning, before anyone has gotten out of bed and there is no traffic on the road. That's what I did again this Sunday morning, on a round trip of about 40 miles.
About a third of the trip was foggy and the sun had not yet burnt through and to my surprise and definate Delight, coming into a town doing about 65, I glanced down and the temp bars were at TWO. I almost forgot where I was due to the shock. I have never seen two bars before, and this was after driving for at least a half an hour. The temp reading was 12 Celcius, not sure what that is for you F guys, but not warm.
Now I am looking forward to the Autumn and Winter, when I will no longer feel the need to keep looking down at the guage to see if the bike is at five or six bars, if the fan has come on or not, if I should pull over to let the bike cool down.... bring on that cold stuff. :f_spider:

Works for me!:2thumbs:
Of course, I live in South Carolina...:D

I am tired of tHIS summer....:chill:

Can't wait for the first day of Fall, which if all goes according to plan, I will be celebrating at Lamonsters BBQ!

:agree: wholeheartedly! The humidity was so bad today sweat started dripping off you if you just stood still for 1 minute. Of course, we had work to on our Spyders and could not just stand still. It was miserable, and now the thunder has started booming again. I am hoping it rains and gets rid of some of this humidity, but am in agreement that fall cannot come fast enough.

Of course, when winter gets here I will probably be compaining that I am too cold again. :roflblack:

I like the cooler weather also and my Spyder does too. I'm looking forward to Autumn when all the trees are pretty in different colors and the temps are cooler :2thumbs:

Well, looks like I'm half a bubble off again...er, still. I am thrilled with having the first warm summer we have had in 20+ years. Being able to walk out the door without a jacket or sweathirt every morning brings a smile to my face. I have sympathy for those who are suffering with 100+ temps, but our steady diet of 80-95 stuff has been ideal...something we seldom see anymore. I never look forward to a Michigan winter!

I left Michigan for Marine Corps boot camp in 1984, and never looked back. I definitely understand why you never look forward to those winters, and don't blame you one bit.

I was born a Michigander in the U.P. - Escanaba- didn't stay there long as I was an Air Force Brat. Dad was stationed along the sunbelt in my formative years; GA, TX, and finally AZ where I grew up. I remember going back to Michigan in the summer to visit my relatives and seeing the state bird - The Mosquito!:roflblack:

Hope there are less now and not as big for your sake Scotty!

:2thumbs: Keep the summer. Its is hot and humid up here and its uncomfortable as heck but at least I don't have to shovel it and fall and winter will be here soon enough, after all only 132 shopping days til CHRISTMAS !!!

CT has Great weather because we get quite a few Canadian air fronts and nice cool low humidty air in the summer and the heavy rainstorms usually miss US and hit upstate New York and VT and NH!!!:roflblack:

Yes but for you guys Autumn and Winter bring constant rain!!

Rain......I remember rain........

It was a balmy 108 degrees here today and supposed to cool down to 107 on Wednesday. When riding last week, I thought the bottom of my feet were going to burst into flames. I know we are blessed with about 10 months of decent riding weather here in Southern Nevada but it is "burn your face off hot" right now and I'll be glad when it's done!

Well, sold the car and sold the 2 wheeler, so its :f_spider: for all seasons from here on and the rain is not the worst weather to have.
I am sure that SOMEWHERE with so may spyders on this website that someone is reading this and just smiling because they have the best weather for all seasons.
I know the snow and ice are really bad and that most spyders will be put away for that season. Guess the guys up in Canada have this sorted out by putting tracks on the bike instead of tyres for the winter.
I much prefer the middle ground with weather, not too hot that I am sweating in a jacket and helmet, but not too cold where there is ice on the roads, rain I can take.
Let us know out there if you think you have a really good weather pattern all year round for biking, where is best.
We might all move there

Weather wise I'd like to be where Lamonster and Baja used to live- San Diego CA. Great weather - just didn't like the traffic...:sour:

I've managed at least one ride every month for 6 years, but there's no way I could give up the 4 wheels in the winter. Work is too far to walk, and a motorcycle is too dangerous when the cars are a' slippin and a' slidin!

I need the down time during winter to mod the Spyder. Once its in the basement, it basically stays in pieces until spring. I usually buy all the mods during riding season but put them on all at once over winter. Too busy riding around in the summer (not a lot of warm days for us northerners).:doorag:

Arkansas HOT

:gaah:Heat index 105-117 for the last three weeks. I do my mods in the summer and ride all winter as long as now snow or ice.

Perhaps I should try something like that. I install mods, then go out and ryde like crazy, then find more mods to install. It is a never ending saga.

I ryde year round and found drinking a lot of water helps when its in the 90s and the heat index with the humidity is over a 100. It was nice Monday with a nice breeze and in the colder months, I create my own windchill but anyday ryding, is better than driving the truck.

As for mods in the basement? First I would need a basement! I did have one living in West Hartford but, I moved on and here I am living on the beach, and haven't thought about a basement in sometime. The mods I get when I can afford them.

Thinking about it as a kid, I used to always find my shoes at the bottom of the basement stairs. My mother loved doing that but, didn't like finding her own shoes left in the hallway, at the bottom of the stairs. With two brother's living in this house, I often wondered how she knew it was me. It must have been that innocent look that never worked.:dontknow:
