• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

breakdowns with coolant

Coolant reservoir leak

Recently passed my 11k mile mark. While inspecting my 2009 SE5 at work I noticed the coolant appeared low. Sure enough, when I got home and looked closer the reservoir was near empty. I refilled the coolant reservoir and ran the engine till the temp gage was over five bars. Thats when I noticed the leak. Coolant was spraying out of a small crack in the coolant tank. Since then I've searched online and found similar stories of cracks developing in the coolant reservoir due to a design flaw. An internal divider prevents the bottle from expanding evenly with the heat and weakens the bottle along the vertical center line. My attempts to repair the leak have failed. Now I'm left without my spyder over Labor Day weekend and my factory warranty expired in September.:gaah:

Question. Has anybody found a suitable replacement to the stock coolant reservoir?
After reading of some ryders replacing theirs more than once, I rather find a more permanant solution. Any Ideas?

I bought a spare coolant tank and cap that I take on long trips after reading about these problems.

That being said--- 44,000 (much of it hard-huligan miles) and I've never had any coolant problems......

Close to 130K, 2 coolant bottles longitudinal crack (of course, because of the Turbo...:roflblack::clap:):
