• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Break down in hot south dakota

I left ga on Monday and rode 700 miles to Springfield mo and Tuesday from there to route 90 and then across south Dakota towards rapid city. I am pulling a 622 trailer, traveling alone with the trike doing great in the high temps. I had traveled about about 700 miles tuesday with temps as high as 111 and was warned of thunderstorm. I stopped in murdo sd. I was in the office about 10 minutes, sat on the bike turned on the ignition , gages came on heard a pop under the seat all power lost, totally dead. Nearest dealer 140 miles away in rapid city.
any thoughts for morning. I could not do much last night as this was happening a thunderstorm hit with wind and high winds. Thanks.

hmmmmmmmmm ..................................

A "POP" under the seat would make me think that something electrical is at play here & I'd suggest checking the fuses under the seat then also check the ALL IMPORTANT Battery connections to make sure they are not loose and are rock solid tight.

Besides that, checking the fuses and relays in the Frunk would be my next suggestion. I hope this is something as simple as a blown fuse or relay and that you get back to your trip without much delay.

Teddy & I will keep you in our prayers for a safe jouney.

Jerry,

Sorry to hear about your predicament. One of the things I would check is any wiring you might have added that runs under the seat or nearby. Perhaps the heat and long hours in the saddle have melted or rubbed away the insulation and it shorted out. You'll also need to check the fuses to see if something is blown.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Similar problem mentioned in another thread today. Loose battery cable seemed to be the solution to that one. Other suggestions are good also.

Murdo used to be my first night rest stop on the way to the badlands--l hour away. I also used to go to the antique car museum there--is it still up and running?

Let us know what happens. Hope you get :spyder2: up an running since you are only miles away from some good stuff.

:agree: It seems for some reason the terminals loosen up on the Spyders battery,
Mine loosen up at about 3 hundred miles [08] So i tighten them with ''stainless steel'' star washers,
Still were tight at 19 thousand miles. I beat the hell out of my ATV's and Rhino going over bumps, rocks.,and fallen trees and never had a battery terminal come lose. :dontknow:

CHECK THE MAIN FUSE !!!!

CHECK THE MAIN, and check the battery cables. also the wiring you have added
good luck
Dave
