• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So I did my first "long ride" yesterday. 123 mile practice ride today. Edmonds to Bothell to Woodinville to Redmond to Fall City to Snoqualmie Falls (passed another Spyder Ryder there), to North Bend. Then I-90 to Issaquah. Promised myself a root beer at the XXX root beer place, but they were having a carshow there. Got a soda in Renton instead (I-90 to I-405), then though West Seattle, and to I-5 for the trip back.

The Spyder on-board computer system detected an RPS fault twice and placed it into "limp home" mode. However, both times the problem cleared after the bike had been parked for a few minutes. I don't know if the motion and yaw sensors on the steering may have timed out while on a wide curve (first time was on I-90 about a mile or two east of Issaquah, the second was just past Northgate on I-5), or I may have had my foot resting a bit too hard on the brake while throttling. Still, something to have them check when I bring it in for it's 600 checkup.

Was a fun ride, but I think I should have been home around 75 miles. I'm dead tired.

Fuel mileage isn't quite as bad as I was worried about (27.9 mpg). The analog fuel GAUGE on the other hand seems to be rather...well......wrong 99% of the time.

Welcome to lyfe of Spyders. It's always good to have another one in the NW. Enjoy the Ryde

Brought my RT in today for the 600 mile check (also to have the XM radio and 12v frunk outlet installed and to have them check that fuel gauge.)

The parts and service people were going "you got 600 miles on it ALREADY??"

My reply was "well, 598. Want me to drive it around the block a few more times??"

They laughed and said "nope, we'll do that for you. :) "
