• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRAND NEW 2017 F3 LIMITED LOST TUPPERWARE

Can someone tell me how they attached the DZus?

Debbie

Fitting the DZus things is really quite simple & self evident to most once you've got them in your hand. Look at the pic I put up of the dismantled assembly - basically, you only need to drill a hole thru both panels in the right spot; slide the 'captive nut' bit over the edge of the lower panel so the hole & nut line up; put the DZus pin thru the top panel & add the washer to the inside projection of pin to stop it falling off; then fit & mate the panels; line the DZus pin up with the hole & nut assy in the panel below; & finally press & twist the keyed top of the DZus to positively lock the assy & panels together! :dontknow:

For the F3's - Take the removable panel OFF & look for an edge on the opening below - the lower 'slide-on' captive nut bit for the DZus will slide over any panel edge, so if you find one of those that lines up with somewhere appropriate on the upper panel that will let you drill a 1/4" dia (or whatever size is appropriate) thru both panels & push the DZus thru in such a way that it'll mate with the captive nut bit on the edge of the opening below & finally allow you to push & twist.... problem solved/panels positively locked together until you push & twist to unlock them.

It really isn't hard, & if you reckon it's beyond you (& some things just are! :dontknow:) either get your Grandkids to do it (my Grandkids just roll their eyes & then take just a few seconds to do anything I can't work out!) or pay your local service bloke to do it - probably cost no more'n a 6 pack! :2thumbs:

Once you see how Dzus fasteners work you will know they cant fail. The bouncing around you see is just the D-ring part that you grab and twist. That has no part in actually holding things together. Its just the part you hold when twisting, and that's normal. We used them for years on our race motorcycles to hold the bodywork on. believe me they do not fail at speed. I would only buy Dzus brand, they are the best by a mile.

So a little follow up on my lost part....Before seeing the previous post above about a cheaper place to get the access panel, I ordered one from the dealer. Went to pick it up yesterday and unwrapped it. After paying $175 for it, it came without the quarter turn latch. That part is 1.99. Geez BRP, are you kidding me???? So if anyone loses one, keep that in mind. Oh, and if you lose the left access panel and want to put it back to original, don't forget the little sticker that says safety cards (or whatever) for another $1.28. :banghead:
