• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Brake Sensor Code

On the ryde into work this morning I noticed an intermittent Red (!) on the display panel. I pulled over to check codes and found C0049. According to the Spyder Codes app, this is "OLS - Brake Fluid Level Sensor". My fluid level seems to be in the Operating Level area, but not easy to tell without a flashlight. The brakes have never been really tight, but they're the same as always.

Does anybody have any further info on this Code? We're supposed to take a Canyon Ryde this weekend, and I might not be able to have it serviced by then....Should I be worried about our safety and Bag the ryde?

The nanny is very sensitive to brake fluid level. Fill the reservoirs to the neck and retry.

If your 2012 RT has never had the fluid flushed and refilled, its over due. But that is usually a different code.

Mine was throwing the same code last week. Checked the fluid and looked OK but added a small amount to rear reservoir and no more code. It takes very little to cause it to give the code. Mine is also a 2012 RT-L.

I guess.....

I guess I'll add a spoonful or 2 of DOT4 that I bought a couple of weeks ago for this kind of occasion. Time will tell!
I was worried that this was a "Broken Sensor" code and not a "Fluid Level" code....
Thanks for the info!

Bad Things....

So I added a small splash of DOT4 fluid into the front reservoir only to see if that any difference. That brought it from in the slant to just below the filler-neck.
Now I'm not only still getting the 0049 code, I'm now getting "Brake Failure" in orange on the display. It still brakes ok...but I don't need this kinda problem....

I guess it's off to the dealer...
