• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

brake reservoir leaks?

I saw on a You Tube video (on a Gs or Rs) that when the body work was removed, you could see where brake fluid had spilled and had damaged some of the paint and components under the body work. Is this a problem with all Spyders or is this a sign of poor maintenance by dealership or owner? I am currently lusting after a left over 2010 RT in silver, but am trying to convince myself to wait for the 2011's. We'll see how that goes.

The problem is not typical. Although it has been a result of a couple of reported leaks (which should have been repaired under warranty), it is more likely a result of spilling while filling the reservoir. Anytime you add brake fluid, it pays to protect everything very thoroughly.

Thank you for the quick response. I rather firgured that might be the case. I suppose that I'll have to figure out how the body work comes off so that I can periodically check such things.

Good to know. I think that when I have the 600 mi service done (I hope to do all the others myself) that I will have them check that area.

At 2000 miles, I discovered a small drip right in front of the rear tire. The only thing I could think of was that the rear air bag plastic air hose had broken and that the condensation in the bag might have spit a little water out (rear bag had zero air). Well, after installing the heated grip, I discovered that I had brake fluid on the rear part of the frame. I don't know whether this happened recently or has been there for a while. A small bit of paint was starting to come off, but other than that fairly unscathed. I guess I should check the gasket on the plastic cap. Oh one last thing. I have not done my own oil change yet (though that's coming up). When I showed my father how to check the oil level (on their 2011) a rubber o-ring fell off the dip stick. Gee, I though, my 2010 doesn't have that. A-ha, I guess I need to re-order the one that had been on my Spyder but now was no longer there.
