There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Brake Noise?

I have a swish, swish, swish noise in both front tires - sometimes just one. My husband says this is the brake pad rubbing the drum? Anyone else hear this? Did you do anything? If so, what?

Let me just say - YES! I am a female with super ultra hearing & this noise does irritate me. Doesn't stop me from riding, though! I got my Spyder the end of April & due to various circumstances have had about 3 weeks that I couldn't ride. I have still accumulated almost 2K miles! I'M LOVIN' THIS THANG!!!:D

Any comments would be appreciated.

This is just something that almost ANY vehicle with brakes will do...
Your hearing is amazing!
If it were me; I'd just turn up the radio a little bit. :D
There's not much that can be done... perhaps a change to pads that are made of a different compound?
PM BajaRon; see if he has any suggestions.
Good Luck!

Thanks! There was a lot of brake dust when I did a thorough washing last time. Will consider a change.

And for all you men out there who are thinking - "she probably rides her brakes." NO. I don't.:p:lecturef_smilie::rolleyes:

Same issue on my 2014 RTS. They will squeal but get some brake cleaner and it will cure the problem. I would suggest you do this in a parking lot and test the brakes out before getting on the road.

No you don't ride them. I hear the same noise on mine and thought it was the suspension adjusting at first but now realize it is the pads doing their job so I just ignore it.Kind of reassuring actually.

You can read my mind?:yikes: No I didn't think that.:)

I heard it too. And the wife really could hear it. Even with a full helmet on! My motorcycle does it too. Nothing to worry about. Even cars do it. ;)

Still a LOT of noise!

I recently had my brake pads changed - to eliminate swishing sound! Tech supposedly installed higher quality pads. Swishing noise STILL there, only now it sounds almost like a metallic sound. My husband jacked up the front & we turned the wheels & could hear the noise on both wheels when freely spinning. Tech said they ALL do this & he gets complaints all the time.
Anyone else having this problem?

For all of you folks who say you can hear your brakes dragging, I think I would make sure the rotors aren't slightly warped. I've never heard that disc brakes dragging was normal. Am I misinformed?

Thanks! I do NOT think this is normal & want something done about it!!!

Well, I'm am far from being an expert, but do a good bit of experience with disc brakes on cars and motorcycles. You can go to a brake shop and talk to them about your problem and get an expert opinion to be sure. If they agree it is not normal, maybe they would put it in writing and you could show that to your dealer. Good luck.

I've got an idea... nojoke
If you put a little bit of a beveled edge on the leading edge of the pads; it might help to quiet them down a bit...
We used to do this with squeaky brakes, and it would work pretty well. You just need to re-bevel them when the pads wear down...
