• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Brake noise

frank3

RT-S PE#0180
Have 1800 miles on the RT now and last night during a ride, noticed the brake calipers making a "click" noise each time I applied the brakes. I think I can hear this on more than one caliper each time. Had a different helmet on, could of been hearing better, and maybe It's always been there but only noticed it last night. It's as though the caliper piston is not is full contact with the back of the pads until the brake is applied. I'm used to the disc brake piston always being in contact but this is like there is a gap OR the pads ears are hanging up in the slots and being broke loose when pressure is applied. Is this normal? Maybe I'm just being too picky. :dontknow:

More then likley that is some sort of ABS test that the brakes make when applied. I have the same thing happen on my Goldwing.

I had/have this with mine too. its just an audible click not clicking right? usually more noticeable on one side or the other. I pulled my tires off and examined everythign I could think of and found nothing abnormal and of course I have no real braking problems. Final decision about it. Normal..just keep driving. i think a lot of people dont hear it over their after market exhausts even if they have it.

It is normal. What you are hearing is the ABS solenoid clicking. Very similar to cars except it's located where you can actually hear. On a car is outside the passenger compartment.

Crickets or Frogs?

Clicking , More like a frog song maybe. I blend in with the forest sounds. Brakes work. All is cool.:2thumbs:Sorry, not suppose to be in here, I have a GS.
