There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Brake Light stayed on

Hi Forum,

Okay I noticed once before that my brake light stayed on a new ST-S and I click the pedal and it turned it off. This time I must have not noticed the light was on and after a week of not driving my Spyder now it seems the battery is drained. I tried to jump start my bike with jumper cables hooked up to a car battery; however the car would turn on but would not start. I tried trickle charging it for 24 hours at 2amps; however no luck. I'm trying to get from having to pay to my bike towed to the dealer to get them to fix the brake pedal issue which everyone on the forum knows that is an issue with some of the 2013 ST-S. Do someone knows a better way to get the battery to charge, do I need to remove the battery instead of using the connections in front of the bike, or should I try a normal charge on the battery

All help is appreciated,

Let's see..!!

if the battery is really low trickle chargers will not work. You will need a stronger charger hooked up to the jumper posts. Now if you hooked it up to a good charged car battery and it would not start there may be other issues. Check fuses... Good luck..!!

Jump start it and run it a while to get enough juice in the battery for your charger to work. Using a battery maintainer like the Battery Tender is better than a trickle charger. Hopefully that is what you meant you tried. As was said, the maintainers won't work if the battery is too low. An old-fashioned charger will work instead of a jump start, but be sure it is 2.5 amps or less. Too high a charging rate can ruin the battery.

Your dealer should have a service bulletin calling for shaving the rubber brake pedal stop to eliminate the sticking light. Some Spyders have needed additional remedies.

Tried jumpstarting no luck using car battery or after charging with a battery charger; however I too think it is something more than a battery. Will get it towed to the dealership and I made them aware about the Service Bulletin.
