There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Brake fluid

anybody got any ideas why I have to keep adding fluid to my brake reservoir. I haven't found any leaks anywhere nor puddles on the floor. 2012 RTS SE5

For whatever reason BRP has "slits" in the rubber seal under the cap.
The fluid leaks out of the cap. I just had new caps installed under warranty two weeks ago during my 9000 mile check up. I will see if it makes a difference. I never saw a drop on the floor. Leaks down on the frame and is probably eating the paint off..

Put the caps on correctly and they won't leak. Vent to the rear.

Oops,
In the center of the cap. How could they go on wrong?

I would look closely (wheels off) at your calipers. If the piston seal is leaking, the fluid will be lost to the pad/disc,
or burn off through the heat , and you won't see any "drips" as such.

Also check your brake pad wear! As pads wear the calipers then hold more fluid and thus the reservoir drops.

Brake caps on correctly. vent is under the rib. Notice no leaking fluid. Has never leaked fluid 42,000 kms (26,000 miles). Never added any brake fluid yet.

Incorrect vents to the front. Will leak for certain.

Incorrect vent to the inside. Will likely leak.

Then they were installed wrong at the factory because I first had to add fluid at about 3000 miles. I never had the caps off before that.
Thank you I will check to see how the dealer installed the new caps!

Thanks, 1 was to the front and 1 was to the rear. That's the way I put them on this morning after adding fluid. I made the change so both are to the rear and we'll see what happens. Thanks Billy.

Billy's post set me to checking because yesterday I was doing some extensive cleaning under the seat and noticed minor damp dirt on top of the master cylinder. My rubber seals can rotate in the caps and if I set the vent V at the rib and install the caps with rib at 3 o'clock (12 o'clock is at front of Spyder) and tighten, the vents are then at rear. Rule for me: check vent orientations whenever I remove caps.

I don't think it matters where the V slit is in the diaphragm. It only matters that vent in the cap (rib) is facing the rear.

I don't understand your 3 o'clock orientation. If 12 o'clock is the front of the Spyder then the rib should be at 5 o'clock. Looking down from the top.

I believe he meant that 3 o'clock was the start point before tightening.

Also don't forget that the rubber seal has too large of a vent hole, which was discovered years ago. This also allows brake fluid to escape no matter which direction the vent hole is oriented. The fix being a replacement from a Dodge bought from the auto parts store.

I know...don't ask

but I will tell you they are right..all the above. I had fluid leaking down the frame eating the paint and finally one drop now and again just under the muffler joint on a RS. Over filling will also cause them to leak even with the caps on properly...

CTPS told me it was my rear shock failed and the 2nd one as well! Ive got the old one and its still pressurized! Paint was eaten off old one...are there any instructions anywhere from BRP about this? ..
