• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Brake Failure Situation

Well it finally hit my RT SE5. Started a couple of weeks ago. Got the Brake failure notice when I started her up in the morning heading out to work. It went away as quick as it came. Happened again the next week startinf up leaving work and it went away. Came back on when I pulled into the garage and pressed the parking brake to turn it off. Long story short I looked on here and found a previous thread for this and checked fluids. All at max. Was in Daytona for Biketoberfest and was talking to the Can-AM guys. Said it may be the sensor and to take it to the shop. They would be able to tell when and how many times the error came up. Took it in last Monday and was called and told that there were no issues and that they rode it a while it no brake failure lights coming on. Went to get it yesterday and as soon as I started it BAM!!:gaah: BRAKE FAILURE. Went back into the shop and know it sits there waiting on Monday. I so wanted to ride but I'm stuck in the cage till I get her back. This really bites. I tried foloowing the procedyre in the last thread to get the code but had no luck. Was that method only for the RS and not the RT? Any other thoughts on the possible problem? Maybe bleed the brakes? I don't know.:helpsmilie:

I had a similar problem with the brake failure coming on. It was freaking me out, but I kept on riding until I got to my dealership. They knew what it was right away because they had another one earlier in the week. Break fluid was low, even though it didn't look low they said BRP made it very sensitive so even if it's just tad bit low the brake failure will show. They topped off the brake fluid for me and haven't had a problem since.

Yeah. What he says goes double for me.

Did the Brake levels look good when you checked? Both were at the max. line.

When I looked at it the levels looked fine, but had signs of slight leakage, maybe because the cap vibrated loose or something, I don't know. Maybe what happened was when I applied the brakes air could have gotten in and lowered the level a bit and set off the failure light? I don't know, but it all good now.

UPDATE

I spoke with my Service guy yesterday and they got ahold of Bombardier yesterday. They told him to disconnect the sensors on the brake fluid containers and start it up. He did and no brake failure notifications. Reconnected and restarted and got the brake failure notification. Is now replacing the sensors so I have to wait for them to come in. Hopefully this takes care of it. We shall see.
