Well today I took the spyder out to lunch was about a 5 mile ride and on my way back to the office the brake failure message came on. Last time this happened it was a combination of fluid and a brake light being out. This time the fluid is full and the brake lights are fine so i'm not sure what else might cause this. Anyone have any info on what else could cause the brake failure message to be displayed?

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Pads were just replaced all around less than 3k miles ago. at my 6k service.
I'll check them out here in a bit i know the last time i checked them there was already some foam in the top cover of the relay box. But they still might have worked their way loose.

Had the same thing. Checked fluid and it was full or so i thought, it has to be realy full or the brake failure light will come on. This is what the dealer told me when i took it in. I had done everything checked fluid, checked relays ,adjusted parking brake, still same message- brake failure. Now you dont want to dick around with a brake failure so took it in and just needed more fluid.:dontknow:
Interesting i'll double check it after work. After filling the fluid did the brake failure message go away or did they have reset the error in budds?

When i called the dealer he told me if i took it to him with a brake failure code he could not give it back to me until it was fixed how ever long it took something about liability. So he hooked it up to the budds and i don't know what message he got or if he had to reset anything. All i know is that he topped up the brake fluid that i thought was pretty full allready and the problem went away.
On the plus side he fixed the brake issue, jacked up my rear shock to the max. which for the life of me i couldn't get the sucker to move ,adjusted my belt and cleaned up my brakes that where squealling all at no charge.:2thumbs:

Rode my Spyder today. Stopped for awhile and got back on and the brake failure came on. Then it said parking brake failure. Been reading on here that the brake fluid has to be completely full. What kind of brake fluid should I use and when I fill it, will the brake failure readout go away?

And yes the code will go away......assuming that the fluid level is the problem....
