So i haven't been around on the forums lately. Actually been pretty disapointed in the spyder over the summer months. It was a 50 mile ride then a shop visit and repeat all summer. So I rarely got any riding in during the good riding season and today i'm taking the spyder back to the shop for the Brake failure message. Hopefully they will be able to figure it out this time and fix it for good!!! I'm sick of not being able to ride!!!! I remember reading about others having this problem in the past has anyone had the issue fixed?

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We had the brake failure code appear on our Spyder at around 5K miles. Took it into the dealer to have it fixed and the probelm never returned. Not sure why yours keeps acting up, could be more than one related problem. I know a lot of the demo SE5s that I saw had this problem. Mine is a premier edition SM5.
The brake failure code appears when there is not enough pressure in the Brake presure regulator/calibration unit(I think). There is a switch/sensor tha connectects to the to monitor brake pressure. Check you brake fluid level. If the brakes were recently bled, then they should have also been bled at this unit as well. Then connected to BUDS to verify presssue and to clear the fault codes.
I would first check my brake fluid and the caps. It could also be a bad sensor or regulator. You can clear the error on your own. Since you didn't bleed you own brake I would take it in, and have the dealer fix and cover under warrenty.
I know this isn't low brake fluid as both resavoirs have been checked by myself and the dealer every time this occurs. It always happens when backing out of a parking space at very low speeds. The brake pedal goes all the way to down with zero stopping power the code is triggered. I then can pump the brakes to regain pressure and it will be fine for a bit (code will still be displayed but i can stop).
Dealer is contacting BRP today to see what they want to do to try to resolve this problem.

Has the parking brake been adjusted? If the rear brakes have worn enough, the brake travel is increased unless the parking brake lever is adjusted to minimize excess travel in the rear brakes.
Adjusting the parking brake lever will 1) make the parking brakes set better with less clicks of the parking brake pedal and 2) decrease the pedal travel in the standard brake pedal.
