• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Born on date for your RT or RS is???

Want to learn when our bike was built by BRP?

Well your friends @ SpyderLover is here to help....

From -Scotty... For the RT the month and year of manufacture should be shown on the VIN # sticker on the swingarm.

From docriverside... For the RT If you look through the vent just below the left mirror there is a sticker that has the model #, date and time. Use a flashlight it is near the top and forward on the frame. I found it when installing the GPS system. My first thought was this must be when they put it together.

From
dlycan2... On the RS this information is located on a sticker at the front of the machine and is visible when you remove the frunk. This must be the equivalent of a "build sheet" on a car.
For example the date on my swingarm is 11/2008 and on the sticker up front 141108 1406 or Nov. 14, 2008 at 2:06 pm. It also identifies my Spyder as a Red RS 5spd. I have an '09 SM5.
It was kinda fun looking for this info
!:ohyea:

From IWN2RYD
... On the RS Instead of having to remove the Frunk... I found a duplicate sticker behind the Speedometer cluster. You only need a small Allen wrench, two hands and remove the Cluster to expose the sticker that is stuck to the main plastic framing on the bike (Not on the cluster)... In other-words... The cluster is in one hand.. and you look in the hole left behind from the removal of the cluster to see this sticker. BTW.. It was clear that this area gets wet because the sticker did show signs of being wet (I drive in the rain) so even if we wash the bike there is a good chance this sticker will not be readable for all...
:dontknow::opps:

So that makes 2010 RT-S SE5... BRP Born On Date of 8:50:49 on 01-20-2010 :ohyea:Purchased 4-21-2010 ... Assembled 4-26 & 27, took delivery 4-28-2010 @ 5:33 pm in Enumclaw, WA. :spyder2::2thumbs::doorag::bowdown:

I don't think you can find its actual birthday, but the month and year of manufacture should be shown on the VIN # sticker on the swingarm.

Are the last three VIN numbers the production number?

It says my RT-S was manufactured 02/2010. The last three numbers of my VIn are 895. Does this mean my RT was the 895th RT built?

I asked that question as well. It seems that there is some truth to it with a potential twist.

Mine for example has 00303 for the last five. So mine is the 303rd RT-S with the feature, updates and changes made in that version. What is unknown is how many versions there have been.

For all we know they ran batches of Rt bikes with the standard tranny, then another with the SE5, and so on. All starting with 00001, but the lettering in the VIN is changed by one to start an entirely new sequence.

Not an official answer of course, I am only repeating what I was told by the dealer...

Should I worry?

I see mine has a DOB of 02/26/2010 at 09:30 as well as a time of death showing 06/2010.

Kidding but I wish it did have a number like that. This way I would know how many problems I was in for (I am a pessimist-sorry).

Loving my Spyder and waiting for the backordered clutch bearing parts to arrive for my RTS-SE. Then I can plan some trips. Until then I am a bit leery based on some of the posts I have seen regarding "stuck in first, and could not move" and so on comments.

Each model designation can have the same sequential numbering sequence. Models include not only the RTS, RT A&C, and standard RT, but each color version, North American and export versions, and the limited edition PEs...for both manuals and SE models. In short, there are many model designations...and many of each sequential number.

Nice to know when they were built

It probably doesn't matter, but I thought perhaps certain issues were inherent in certain build ranges, and no tin others.

I hope my build date is no tone that falls into a "buddy you are in big trouble" range.
