• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BONE Head move

Yes normally it's no problem using a C clamp but in this case with the parking brake integrated into the caliper means the actuator shaft is threaded into the piston. That shaft pushes the piston out when the parking brake is applied. You have to make sure it's rotated back into the retracted position before you can push on the piston. Even just turning it might pull the piston back in. :dontknow:

Makes sense but never had any issues. Parking brake is always off when I have done the rear pads and always use a clamp to compress the piston.

The actuator adjustment screw turns easily and adjustment is done regularly the ought the life of the pads as the length of the parking break travel lengthens due to wear and on change of pads.

When I replace pads, all I do is loosen the cap up on the fluid reservoir. Push the pads back slowly and all is good. I usually can push tem back with just my hands. Of course you now have to deal with the parking brake.

Thanks again for info

Well I had already drained some fluid and had removed parking break to remove bolt for brake pads. Then continuing the things I should'nt do I put the clamp on the brake pad and on the back of brake acuator bolt. Thus pushing against each other it's not going to work that way. I now have a copy of service manual and will look at it closer.
Guess a trip to dealer:opps: is in the future due to parking brake failure light.
Some things get better with time this is'nt one of them.

I should have known better.:(
