• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This was the calmest guy on TV when I was growing up. Even though I have no talent for painting this guy sure did.

That song almost starts to grow on you after a bit!
I never heard of this guy; but he's got some talent! :firstplace:

His show started in the early 80's and it was on public television. He died in the mid 90's at only 52 from cancer.

Many a days did I sit in front of the TV and watch his show nojoke He was one of the Best. Thanks Randy, I had forgotten how much I missed seeing his show.

He was my painting teacher. I watched his program faithfully for years, bought the equipment, painted many beautiful paintings and even sold quite a few for the "happy buck" as he always said. Yes, he was one of a kind and is greatly missed.

The Sistine Chapel was a whole different level of painting. He was not able to watch Bob Ross, so his methods were a bit slower. :roflblack:

I never got quite as fast as Bob Ross, most of mine took an hour or so. I did a couple florals using different mediums, (acrylics) and spent a couple months on two different ones. One petal at a time.

The son plus several others are "certified Bob Ross" instructors. You can take in classes and workshops in different parts of the country. They have a website with all the information. We still get to see re-runs on one of our cable channels.

I watch his show on PBS regularly. The cool part of the video is it shows the way he looked over time.
