Hi Bob. Just had a young lady run into my truck in a parking lot. Dented the front bumper a little on my truck. Called the police, he Took names, checked registrations, etc., Did not do an accident report.

Young girl, 20 ish. had a baby with her, no collision. I felt sorry for her so I told her if she wasn't going to report it to her Ins. Co. I wouldn't report it to mine. Police officer didn't think there was $1,000.00 in damage to both cars, nobody was injured.


Do I need to or should I report it to my Ins. Co.?

Really felt bad for the girl. Old beat up van, young baby, was driving in the parking lot of Social Services. I was going to Dunkin Doughnuts for coffee. I had a chore getting her to stop crying about how bad a time she was having. So I'll fix my bumper myself.

A similar situation occurred with me several years ago. My insurance agent had me report it to him and he held the claim in the event that there were any problems that showed up later.

:agree: 100% I would report it, just in case. If god for bid, she reports it, it can be looked like you are the one who hit her car.

Since the Expert can,t answer I as a stupid Ole person say If neither report it neither insurance rate will be affected and you always have a Copy of the police report for insurance against a future claim. But I don,t know if thats right-I,m not an Expert???:dontknow:

Just get a copy of the incident report... If she tries anything cute; send that in when you report it to your insurance company... :thumbup:
You could give her a call and see if she's willimg to pay for your damages... Get her a reasonable estimate and see what happens...
