Bluetooth Music from Phone to Spyder speakers

I may not be able to do this but here goes. :banghead: I have a 2016 RT Ltd. I recently hooked my phone up to the Radio system using the USB connector in the trunk. I was able to see what song was playing and advance it or go back to the previous song. The problem is I do not want to leave my phone in my trunk. I have seen Lamonsters video on using a blue tooth dongle to play music from the phone to the speakers but you will not get any song information or the ability to go forward or backward.
Does anyone know of an adapter that will allow me to have full control of my phone via blue tooth. Thanks in advance for your help.

Mount your phone where you can control the music with it and use the Bluetooth unit Lamont sells to hook it to the radio in the trunk.

1. The trunk is lockable.
3. You can unplug your phone from the cable when NOT in use.

Why bother hooking up to Spyder. Get Bluetooth ear buds to listen to your phone or simply run the input jack from phone to earphone speakers. Molded

earphone speakers are available now and will fit well inside your helmet.

Why bother everyone around you with your speakers blaring?

Or just buy a cheap used iPod touch and leave it in your trunk permanently.
You can find iPod touch 4th gen for less than $50 on Ebay.

This is what I have done and it's just now part of my Spyder :)

I use the Dewalt Bluetooth adapter in the trunk and the Ram Mount X-grip up front with me. I love this set up.

I tried running it to ear buds and to my Sena 20s. I couldn't hear anything around me ,could not hear the engine to shift, I just hated it. The Sena 20s have terrible speakers for music audio.

I just bought one of these. You can purchase them cheaper at other sites. I paid $32 with shipping. It works great. I mounted this on my helmet, My phone is mounted on the handlebars with an X grip. I sync the phone to the headset with blue tooth. I can control the songs from the phone or I can use the buttons on the headset to do this. Best part is. I can also make and receive phone calls, communicate with another headset unit and get turn by turn navigation using Google maps (or another nav app) on my phone.

I don't like my speakers blaring for everyone to hear, so I just use bluetooth earbuds with my music on my phone. Bluetooth earbuds are for sale for $10 most anywhere these days, and decent quality too....and yes, they will fit in the helmet. I just put my phone in a X-Grip holder on the dash

Ditto

Me too (used iPod); love it. I also have the BRP Bluetooth dongle so I can listen via my Sena 20s or through the bike's speakers.

As others have said, a dedicated ipod is the way to go. We bought the smallest one and just leave it hooked up. I do this in my vehicles too. All info at the ready and no more constant connecting/disconnecting every ride. You could even use an older iphone 5 and up if you have upgraded at all recently and still have the old one sitting around collecting dust.

Because the music I listen to is so damn good. Believe me, I am doing everyone a favor by introducing them to the dulcet sounds of Disturbed, GNR, Deftones and Avatar. A lot of people in cages have head banged along with me while riding.

I wander how this unit works compared to Sena. Much cheaper than Sena. I am using Sena and it works OK but don't get real good volume and speakers are not real good.

This is what I did. Got the idea here at the forum, probably from Bob! I personally don't like to listen to music in my bluetooth headphones. For me, it too much like wearing ear buds and it masks the sounds around me, i.e. traffic, which I want to hear. But, that's me.

Sorry........but NOBODY else wants to hear your music......or MINE and MINE is better than yours!:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Me and you would get along great so far as music goes ! Add a little Metallica and Korn :D

I don't worry about others hearing my music, because of the cars running the Boom Boom music that's much louder than mine.

Cheap Bluetooth fix

I just bought Monster Bluetooth adapter for $9.99 at Walmart. It connects to 3.5 mm jack in the trunk of my 2016 RTS which connects to my phone via Bluetooth. This is the cheap fix but couldn’t see spending $250 for Bluetooth dongle. After just by a new bike.

For a 2016, you do not need an ipod in the trunk. Just put your music on an inexpensive thumb drive and plug it in and leave it there. All will be available on the screen with full playback controls.

I don't like my speakers blaring for everyone to hear,

On an RT with a headset, you can turn the speakers OFF. Easy.

On the original question: Do you have a GPS ??
You can transfer your tunes to a micro-SD card and play them from the GPS through the audio system.

I haven't done that enough to know how much control you have though.

And this might be an even better idea:
