• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Blinker/Signal switch

The more I ryde the better it gets:yes:...
but I still keep turning the other blinker on when trying to turn the signal off after changing lanes or after a slight turn that doesn't automatically turn it off. I noticed the turn signal switch on the Kawasaki Vulcan is more like and on off button - no accidental pushing to the other side. Is there such a thing I could put on the Spyder? The buttons look basically the same.:chat:

You just have to get used to it. On the RS, the spring is a bit stronger to the side than stright in to cancel, so this seldom happens. The RT spring is strong to push down, so it easily slips to the side. I have gotten pretty used to taking a quick look at the dash for the indicator light after I cancel, just to be sure it "took".

Get ESI mud flap led's and fender tips. Turns your mud flap light and fender lights into blinkers. You can't help but notice if you leave your blinkers on.

LOL, Irish2

I'm a senior citizen...I'm SUPPOSED to drive with my signal on!!

Good one! I needed the chuckle. Living in Florida I've come to believe that all vehicles leaving Indiana headed my way have some kind of OEM device that automatically starts the left turn-signal flashing when they cross the Indiana border. The same device disables the dashboard indicator so the driver can go from Tallahassee to Key West and not have a clue! :joke::joke::joke: Except Spyder-ryders, of course....

Yea, but I didn't want to blatantly advertise that I belong to AARP now.:yikes: and am new to ryding!

Thanks Capt John - will look into the mud flap thing.

To turn off the blinker[turn signal] just press the button.
But i wouldn't worry just don't use them, Nobody else does!:yikes:

:agree:The switch does not cancel as easy or firm if you will as on other rice bike I have had. Its funny you post this becouse I have reported it to my dealer today to have the tech have a look next month when it goes in for the fuel gauge replacement.:ani29:

I find turning the signal on on the RT is hard. Sometimes I think it is on and I realize that it isn't. The cancelling button is clumsy too. I liked the signals on the RS much better.

turn signal - possible solution

I may have figured out a solution - I noticed that if I push the "button" 2 times it will turn off and NOT put the OTHER signal on. Still wish I could just change the switch itself - haven't looked into that yet.

At least I am not the only one that seems to have that little problem!

I tried your suggestion, and it works very well!! I've been frustrated by the lazy / sloppy cancel on my RTS for the last few months, and your idea was very successful for me on tonight's ride! Thankyou for the tip!! :2thumbs:

Me too! I will have to try the push twice deal and see how that works. I have tried as many as three times to cancel the signal and just managed to change the turn signal from side to side. I did notice that works to make people back off a bit!!! He He! Bill ;)
