• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bleeding brakes?

Maintenance time for all fluids on our RTS. I do not see any bleeder valve on the calipers. You just bleed from master cylinder?. Next plugs and plug wires! These bikes are awful for DIY types.

The calipers do have bleeders. Keep in mind that on vehicles with ABS brake controllers, hooking up to the computer (BUDS in this case) is necessary for a complete brake bleed. You can do a pretty thorough job without it, though, if you make sure not to turn on the ignition during the process, until the brakes are bled and the pedal is solid again with the master cylinder full. You also have to bleed the brakes in the correct order. Most of the time you won't get a brake failure light that way. If you do, you will need to be hooked to BUDS to clear it and complete the bleeding process.

And if you have to have a dealer do it they will charge you 3 hours labor. Thats what it was on mine. Spongy brakes and BRP wouldn't cover it unless there was a defect. They didn't find a defect as it came that way from factory but they wouldnt accept my word for it.

Thank you all for replys. Now have fresh fluids in the bike. Clutch fluid was black really needed to be changed. Brake fluid looked good but changed anyways. New plug wires and plugs on the way. Bike is early 2010 RTS. bike has a little over 10,000 miles on it
