• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bleeding brakes revisited

Been to the post about bleeding and some have said they did it. The manual says to put clear plastic lines on the bleeders, then put fluid into the clear lines, then slowly push down and slowly let up till the line is bubble clear. About 25 times. So does that mean you have to open the valve while peddle is compressed and not close it on release? But then later it says after all bubbles are gone compress peddle open valve then close it before releasing it. Also it says not to use an impact wrench on the lug nuts, but I read an how to video that the guy shows he is using said wrench. Which is correct and also what is the torque of lug bolts? Thanks for any help.

I'd go with bleeders "closed" while pushing the pedal down then while holding the pedal down, crack the bleeder then close it before releasing the pedal back up. If the bleeder is open when releasing the pedal it will just draw fluid back in from the hose. As to the lug nuts, I never use an impact but always use a torque wrench when tightening the nuts back up.

You open the bleeder as you push down the pedal slowly. Close the bleeder before you bottom out and return the pedal. Check the reservoir frequently, if you run low you will need to start over. Do not turn on the key while bleeding the Spyder! Use fresh brake fluid (DOT4) out of an unopened container. Cover everything and be careful not to spill! Brake fluid eats paint off in a heartbeat.

I don't recommend using an impact wrench on Spyder lugs...among other things it mars the chrome.
