• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am considering changing over my foot pegs and brake pedals to the Billet style. I am curious though if anyone else has them installed, are they very slippy since they are aluminum? Please let me know the pros and cons if you have them on your Spyder. Thanks!

Ok, so here's an update on the Billet pegs.

My husband installed them last night for me. It took a little over an hour to do the whole install.

He sarcastically said that whoever buys these would need $1,000 worth of tools to install them.

The front pegs went on smoothly, the rear pegs went on smoothly as well, accept for the one over the muffler. That one was a little tricky if you don't want to remove the muffler to tighten it.

The brake pedals went on smoothly as well, only 2 screws to replace those.

Now, for the manual foot clutch lever, that is a whole other story. He slid off the rubber cover, and then had to remove the peg. Cut off the mushroom end. Drilled and tapped the peg so when the two VERY small set screws went in, they would lock into the peg and not just put pressure against it. This way there was no way it could wiggle off.

The master cylinder cover, couldn't be installed because the longer screws that were supplied were a different thread pattern. So that will have to be tackled another day.

I rode my :spyder2: into work today. I really like the upgrade. I do ride with boots with a heal on as well. The pegs were not slippy in any way. The foot pegs are actually alot thicker and a little longer than the factory ones, and I think that is a bonus. I love the look as well!
