• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bike out of the shop..

..did have about 6 issues with my 2014 RT-S - was going to wait for the 3K check up (have 1,200 miles on bike) to have fixed, but the last problem left me stranded. Never left stranded before. Error code was "wrong key" had to look that one up in my owners manual. Bike would not start. A few hours later - returned to the scene of the crime and the Spyder started right up. I had tried two keys; same result. Left key in ignition and bike started.

Took bike to dealer on my trailer. They replaced the noisy fuel pump (I feel it is not only noisy to the ear, but also electrically speaking noise causing other flaky issues). Also replaced the key switch electronics: DESS Module.

Main reason for my post: Jason, the super tech, is back at Longview Cycle and Ski in Longview TX. Service is very important as you can tell by past posts here on the Forum. I give a thumbs up to Sales: Parts: and Service.

Wanted our E Texas Spyder owners to know.

My view only...

Good to hear..!!

these machines need good techs....glad you went ahead and got things taken care of. The key issue is known and clears but can fail again and not clear leaving you stranded...

DESS Module

Had the DESS Module replaced on my 2014 RTS a few weeks ago also. Never left me stranded, but refused to start a couple of times. I was lucky and each time just walked away from the Spyder for a few minutes, then tried it again and it would start. BRP replaced the module under warranty and there have been no starting issues since.
