• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BEWARE

My understanding is that applies to older iPads (such as my iPad 3).

I also understand you can still downgrade back to iOS7, at least for a limited time.

how would one with an iPad 3 go back to ISO 7 ?

Just as a note, the same issues cropped up with iOS 7 and were fixed in iOS 7.1. Hopefully, that will be the case again. My iPhone 5 is great on 8, but I'm keeping an eye online and waiting to upgrade my iPad 3 to 8 until the reports are improved.

If your using an IPAD, IOS8 is terrible.
it's slow, jerky, crashes
I agree! Apple did offer 8.1, but pulled it as it was causing more problems then it was fixing, hopefully their second attempt will be better. I like a lot of the features, but it is really sluggish!

Under settings> usage, look at what is using up the most charge under battery. You may be able to turn off notifications, push, etc. or even chose to remove the app for now, if not in use. I have two iPhones and two iPads in the house. Three ran perfectly with iOS 8 and one would lose 1% charge per minute. Found the app and removed. Problem fixed. May not be an option with your favorite app and downgrade the best option.

What does this have to do with Spyders?

very little for those that don't have an iPad, thread should be moved to off topic, for me it was beneficial for the info that midlife crisis posted. I often use my iPad tp read on Spyderlovers at night, helps put me to sleep:thumbup: in a good way.

I have an iPad 3, Mini/Retna, & two iPhones - all on 8x with no issues. IMHO anything is better than Android... and the device linking is super! Can't wait for Yosemite to close the circle.....
