• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking for info on best way to hook up a gerbings jacket liner on 2013 ST-S. Don't have any accessory plugs in frunk. Would it be safe to run wires under body panels as it gets extremely hot and concerned about the wires melting. Thanks
 
As long as you keep the wires in front ( which you will cause that's where the battery is) then there shouldn't be a problem. I hooked my Gerbing controller to the jump terminals in front under left access cover.

Here's what I do..!!

hook up directly to the battery running the wires under the seat. When needed we hang the plugs out from under the seat. This way when, almost always, we forget to unplug they slip apart without damaging things....:thumbup:
 
Here are some pics of my Gerbing install. They're hot all the time so I can warm up without having the key on. Unless you are connected to the controller there is no draw from the battery. The Jump terminals are under the front lid on the left side. Just pop the cover and the terminals are attached to a mounting plate. You can pop it off enough to get a wrench under them. (you;ll need two wrenches) The portable controller is temporarily velcroed to dash/switch area and I found a Hopnel bag for the RT's will work on the ST. Just have to pop the rivets under the seat and slide the bag/pouch on. I'm thinking of drilling a hole for the power connector to come through the middle of the switch area with a grommet to seal the cable. Hope this helps.

Hook directly to battery terminals and run female (hot Plug) up along steering column and fasten with Velcro. Remember sticky side down;)

On my RT, I went for the simple approach and ran the Gerbing cable out the same hole the passenger saddle sensor wire goes. I zip-tied it to that cable so I wouldn't lose it if I tuck the Gerbing cable into the hole while not in use. When I want to use it, I just pull it out the left side between the saddle and body panel. It is hooked directly to the battery & has a 15 amp inline fuse on the positive side, near the battery connection. By the way, I have two of them installed. I also use them for my battery charger and have a variety of other adaptors I can plug into them to allow me to use it for whatever I need.

This setup also keeps the wires away from the exhaust, so heat is not an issue.

I highly recommend changing the fuse to whatever the recommended size is for the heated gear you will use. Fifteen amps may protect the harness, but it will not blow if the gear develops a short. That can get pretty scary and uncomfortable! Don't ask how I know.
 
1. Interesting that the earlier bikes had the battery under the seat. The newer 2013's battery is behind the front storage with jump terminals on left side under frunk lid.

I have a problem with the new Heat controller that I've set up on the ST-L. When plugged in either the liner or gloves get hot. There is no heat control. When I plug into my Goldwing with permanent controller, they both work fine. Not sure but the instruction say for the liner and gloves, to use a 15amp fuse. I'm waiting for "TheWarmingStore" to reply. (they're in Phily and the weather is preventing them from normal operation)
