• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Best Wax for the Spyder

Really good stuff, works on all surfaces. Just detailed the wife's Lexus and it turned out great. Can't wait to do the Spyder, need to wash it though. Probably this weekend.

Walmart sells it for $19.95. Not a paste or a cream, more liquidy (probably not a word, lol) than anything else. Goes on and off with ease. Comes with a nice detail towel. I would not use the applicator, I would buy a softer applicator pad. The blue ones at Walmart are great. Works great on wheels too.

I use Turtle Wax Ice on all my vehicles and Spyder. It works great, ease to use and can be applied to black or colored plastic parts. It leave no wax residue. It shines up the plastic trim.

Great stuff ... I use it on all my vehicles ... EXCEPT the 2014 Spyder Ltd. in Silver Platinum Satin.

Nothing, nada, zip ... can barely use water and a clean cloth on that satin finish.

I've used turtle wax rinse free wash and wax -- it worked well and easy to keep the bike "washed" ...always used a wet cloth -- no hoses, just wipe to a shine. Nice

I am now using Lucas Slick Mist and giving it a try on my 2014 RT L.....so far I like it. It goes on easy with a spray and wipes to a great showroom shine. It supposed to provide a "slick" surface so you can clean bugs and debris off easier....we will see.

IF this doesn't do it for me, I'll give the turtle wax Ice a try....happy rydin':thumbup::yes:

I was thinking of trying her suggestion with pledge but the lemon part on a spyder scares me ;)

Kidding....

Probably going to stick my foot in it but

if you were to go to a detailers forum, Turtlewax Ice would not get a very good review compared to many other products. Detailers can border on being a bit on the anal side and like motor oils everyone has an opinion on what is best. Detailing has been a hobby of mine (which probably means I'm anal-just ask my wife) and the basis of a good finish has as much to do with preparation as anything else.
I think that you would find that the biggest knock on Ice is that it just doesn't last anywhere near as long as some other waxes in spite of what Turtle Wax will tell you. Things like bird droppings and bug guts can be pretty acidic and can mar the paint, so longer lasting more durable products are better. One of the most durable waxes I've found is Collinite 476S. It isn't overly expensive and stands up extremely well to detergents and washing. The only annoying aspect of it is that it quite difficult to wash out the sponge or pad that you have used to apply it because it stands up so well to detergents.
Bottom line is if you like it and are happy with it, use it. You just might have to use it a lot more often as it will not stand up to washings and exposure to the elements as well as many of the other brands. And besides, riding is a lot more fun than detailing.
Hope I don't offend anyone who likes TW Ice.

Cheers, Gary

This is soooo true about Lemon Pledge....it only takes me about 15 minutes to do the whole bike, bit I do it every couple hundred miles, and it is always parked in the garage.
