There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. BEST Warranty

You can generalize all you want but as someone who has used the Best warranty, I can tell you it does not work like a third party warranty. I had repairs covered that were well over the cost of the warranty. Don’t get it if you don’t want it, but the BEST warranty is definitely worth it.

I don't think you read what I wrote, because everything you just said, I already addressed. But just to humor you...

In your case, statistically speaking, you are in the minority. As a rule, people spend more money on warranties/service contracts than what the typical cost of repairs would be for the duration of the warranty/service contract. There would be no incentive for these types of warranties to be sold otherwise. I'd welcome an argument that discredits this. Anecdotal evidence doesn't really prove a point one way or the other.

You may also not have noticed that I never used the term "third-party warranty," because in some states, referring to service contracts offered by third parties as "warranties" can get you in legal trouble, because functionally they are very different from a warranty. I included the information on service contracts because BLUEKNIGHT mentioned that some dealers will sell those as an alternative to extended warranties, and I pointed out the differences between the two. Nowhere did I state that the BEST warranty is anything but a warranty, not sure where the confusion came from on that.

Anyone outside US/Canada has got the BEST warranty?

Living in Europe, when I ask this to my dealer, didn't even knew that it existed.

Mako

I asked a dealer here about extended BEST warranty and was told it is not available in Aus. so maybe only in US/Canada.

My dealer wanted $1,200. I told him I can get it elsewhere in the six hundreds, would he like to counter offer? He wouldn't budge, His loss.

I bought mine for peace of mind. At 600 miles parking brake went out, at 1444 miles front sprocket went out.
Like you, I bought my BEST extended warranty for peace of mind, since I was buying my first spyder in April of '15. Today @15,400 miles during the 5th annual service, oil and filter change, the tech told me that I needed my water pump replaced. Thankfully, I have 6 months warranty left. I'll be paying the $50.00 deductible for a $400-$500 service. You bet I think the money I spent back in 4/2015 was worth it,

Knight said - Service contract companies are Third party …… Not the " BEST Warranty " ….. Mike :ohyea:

I will want a BEST extended warranty in March 2020 for my Ryker 600 - my dealer is quoting $1,195 for 3 years. Are you saying I can buy this from any dealer and the price is negotiable?

I appreciate your help.

Exactly what is being said. Call around. That's how I went from $1,000 down to $671 for the exact same coverage. The factory B.E.S.T. warrenty is well worth it if you can get it at a decent price.

Thanks everyone for your input. Between the fuel pump whine and unknowns of the Ryker, I’m still planning to buy the warranty (although I almost never do for the reasons given earlier). I pulled out my purchase papers and my dealer quoted me $899 so I’m going to see if they’d be willing to come down under $700. If not, I’ll start calling around.

Agreed, kind of like playing black jack sometimes the dealer wins, and sometimes you win. in my situation $671.00 for 36 months was worth the gamble.

Remember you only need to purchase before your factory warranty runs out. I waited til the day before mine ran out to purchase.

Jaxfann, check the paperwork; as I understand it, BEST is NOT sold in Florida due to some Florida law about warranties. I've never looked into it so don't know for sure. :dontknow:

That's correct, the BEST can't be sold in FL. However, you can still get it. You have to purchase it from an out of state dealer. I bought mine from Berts Mega Mall for both my '12 and '16 RTS. Dale

Thanks for all this valuable information.

As I understand it I can't by a BEST warranty in Florida but I can purchase it in other states (and can shop the price) and authorized Can Am dealers in Florida will honor the warranty if I need repairs covered under the warranty - is this correct?

Thanks Francis - the dealer I purchased my Ryker from is in South Ga.

When I bought mine before 1/31/2019. BRP gave me another year and the dealer through in 3 years for FREE. Still hope I never use any warrenty.
