• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BEST Warranty transferrable?

I'm trading in my bike-there's 2 years left on my BEST warranty. Is it transferrable to the new bike?

Not sure, I just bought a used RT that has a BEST warranty that according to both BRP and the dealer is transferable to the new owner. I'm a happy camper. Suggest that you contact BRP or your dealer.

Sam I appreciate your zeal to participate but you answered a question that wasn't asked and then referred me to the dealer or BRP for the answer to the question that I did ask. I think I will wait to see if someone else on the forum has the answer.

CLARIFYING...

Is it transferrable to MY new bike. I'm not asking if its transferrable to the owner of my OLD bike.

I can see Sam's confusion. I don't think he was trying to answer a question you didn't ask, it was just confusing the way it was worded. No warranty is transferable from one bike to another, but most are transferable to another person when you sell the bike. If you paid for an extended warranty, you may be able to recoup some of the money, but I'm not sure if that is an option with BEST.

Yes, the BEST warranty is transferable. My first spyder was a 2012RTS-SE5, I upgraded to a 2014RTS-SE6 On July 30, 2014, the dealership transferred my BEST warranty to my current Spyder. Deanna

Well that's not how it was explained to me by my dealer but I will defer to Deanna who obviously has first hand knowledge about this. Sorry if I made an uninformed comment, I will try to be more careful in the future and get my facts correct.

I still had 1year of warranty left on my RTS when I traded for my '14 RTS, but it didn't get transferred to my new bike.:dontknow:

No, your dealer purchased a warranty on the new bike as part of your deal. The old bike kept the old warranty. The BEST warranty is tied to the Vin number and cannot be transferred to a different VIN.

Just went through this purchasing Louise new 2015 with the help of BRP directly involved. Even THEY could not do the transfer and worked the deal to include the new warranty on the new bike leaving the old one in place.

Other aftermarket warranties (not recommended) have other provisions for cancellation etc.
