• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Best STOCK Suspension Setup 2008 GS / RS

I have a new to me 2008 GS/RS with only 5000 original miles. I am wondering what most experienced riders have the suspension set for the best overall rideand handling. Seems like I read here something like 'set front shocks to stiffest (5) and rear shock to softess' and your good to go. I weigh 210 and have read the owners manual but find BRP setting allow for too much lean in the corners. I have messed with tire pressure and have found 20 front and 30 rear works best for me. I'm not interested in aftermarket sway bars and shocks and all that, just the best out of the box setting for all round every day casual combined city and highway riding. Any thoughts? Thanks

PS - I've tried doing a search in these forms and it is of no help, brings up nearly everything

If you often ride with a passenger stiffening up the rear shock is a must. Stiffening up the front end will reduce "body roll" during high speed cornering but will lead to a rougher ride. The set up depends on how you ride, where you ride, and whom rides with you. Mark your shocks and then make adjustments. Good luck and let us know how it works out.

Just sayin'............

You're on it

Fronts on five, rear on whatever you need for the load. 30 lbs in the rear is a lot. I 've run 24 lbs for the last couple years, and it's lasted 16 thousand miles. I do ride solo and i don't do burn outs.
