There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. I know RainX is not recommended, but are there any similar products that can be used on our windshields that is actually effective?

Here's what I do..!!

don't look through my windshield but have been using Plexus or Protectall to clean our roadster and they do a good job sheeting the water off.

I use Lucas Slick Mist on ALL surfaces (except tires).

I regularly use it on windshield and visors.

Works great.
Water beads off like crazy with regular use.
Bugs come off easier too.
Inexpensive.
Easy to find at Autozone etc.
Smells great.
Oh, oh, and it works great.

Love this stuff!

Plexus works well. All Kleer aircraft windscreen cleaner works very well. Also, Clearview aircraft window cleaner and polish works good.

Plexus is available at most any cycle shop or parts house. The others are available at http://www.mypilotstore.com.

I just picked some up a couple of weeks ago and I am impressed so far. Very easy to apply and lasts quite a while.

Picked up a bottle today at AZ. It does smell good. To soon to know if it beads water but I'll find out Monday when I leave for SF; calling for rain here Monday and Tuesday. I'm a look-thru-the-window person, not a peek-over-the-topper.:D

Cue for a song perhaps!

I think ink you will like it. Just apply, rub in and buff. I usually have two microfiber towels that I use. One for the wet application and rubbing. The second towel I keep reasonably dry for final buffing. Doesn't take long to do the entire bike.

Hope you like it as much as I do. And have FUN at Spyderfest 2014 !!!!

I just gave the whole bike a quickie; prob took less than 10 min! I'll be slip sliding thru the rain out by Ashville and Nashville; so slick I won't get a drop on me!!

Back in April, before departing for Springfield and anticipating rain, I asked what was good for the windshield. SteveMac replied with the above and I got some. It really does work beautifully, just as Steve says. It takes a bit more polishing to get the haze off, but if you run into rain, you'll be glad you used it. Great on the helmet visor as well. Good Stuff. Thanks Steve, and apology for the tardy report. :D

I have been using Lucas Slick Mist for several months and it works great. Both as an after wash spray and as a between wash detailer spray for quick cleanups. I use it on everything except for seat and footboard. Yes I use it on the tires, works great there too. One thing I found out was that a micro fibre cloth without a nap, the ones I get are labeled for glass, give a faster and glossier polish than regular microfiber towels on the windshield, glossy painted surfaces and chrome.

:agree: Great Stuff.

lemon pledge works as good as anything cheaper, and spyder smells really good as well.Even good for removing bugs

I put the windshield down for rainstorms... :dontknow:
My faceshield is gonna be wet; why look through two sets of wet surfaces?
stick my head out into the breezes at speed: the wind blows the shield clean!
