• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

best mileage you have gotten

What are the total miles you have gotten on a tank full of gas? rs or rt? trying to set my gps but, I have one of those bouncing fuel gauges. Always want to be safe so I just keep filling it up daily as I ride.

Best I got was 35-36mpg about 180 miles and filled with 5 gallons or so. This was pulling my trailer too. One observation I made was that I got better mpg at higher altitudes. Going through the mountains we got some of our best mileage.

Best I ever got was in Sturgis in 2008. I got 40 mpg riding in the Black Hills from Rapid City out to Devils Tower Via Deadwood.

Never got that mileage again, However, there was a huge downhill section that seemed to go on forever coming out of Deadwood.

So, it looks like gravity really is your friend, besides also being the LAW. :roflblack: :D

08 SM5 31/34 H/way. I always fill the tank right to the top [not recommend bye some] 170/180 miles to one bar, low light comes on at 155/165.
Was getting 36/38 H/way Before putting on a F1 evo. with wings.
This is just me.'' your mileage may vary.'' Engine all stock, stock muffler [almost] and stock air filter.

Like airplanes, the higher the elevation the less oxygen and the leaner the engine runs!
You will probably go slightly faster if the mountains are high as well!:hun:

32 miles per US Gallon. (7.5 litres / 100 km)

Mine has really not varied much more than 1 or 2 miles per gallon either way over the 35,000km I have on the odometer. Over all kinds of speeds and terrain. The fuel lights goes on around 150 - 160 miles and I add about 5 gallons. I could probbaly go another 50 - 60 miles on the 6.6 gallons that the tank is rated at.

Mine has not been like that, I have rode it flat out for 45 minutes ( 3 slow downs for towns and major turns) and have had no bars left and 78 miles on the trip meter, put 5.2 gallons, riding with some friends who rode under the speed limit, which is NOT my way of thinking when it comes to riding.

And I have gotten 150 miles on 4.7 gallons.

How can mine vary soo much and yours not more than 1 or 2? on quarter mile drag days I have gotten even worse for mileage.

I wish mine would old vary that much. I have a SE5 BTW.

I'm not really into checking it... but when I have it's always been 22-26 mpg.... but I ride it pretty rough. When Someguy and I rode down to TN we had to go by my gas gauge because I always needed to fill up before him. Seemed my MPG was around 22 during that trip.

This is when I was running my fuel pressure up around 63 psi. I lowered it back down to 51 when I installed my Juice Box and checked the MPG after 1 tank and it was 26 mpg--- BUT--- whatever the stock settings are on the JB----my Spyder isn't as responsive as when I had the fuel pressure cranked up.

Going to have to make some changes to the JB settings and see if I can find a happy medium of power and mpg...

MPG Input

Just did a 200 mile round trip with a passenger and averaged 38.8  on my 08 SM5. I ride a mostly stock bike, did added a Green Air filter from MM but nothing else mechanical. Altitude may make a dif., I'm mostly at 6,500 feet for any ride on the front range of Colorado and avg 40.5 :2thumbs: by myself.
I have a JB to put on but now wonder if it will improve things of not.

Well, no Quarter mile drags on mine admittedly, but at 80 mph or 50 mph it is about the same. City or highway going through the gears or sticking between 4th and 5th. Shifting is around 5,500 0 6,000rpm. Cruising at around 5,000rpm most of the time.
