Best MC Trailer

Well Hell

New member
Hey Guys: Since you all have the greatest collection of :spyder2: Knowledge..... I am looking for some ideas on the very best trailer to hook up to my 2013 RT-S SE5. I am looking to compare cost and size etc. Any knowledge you have would be great. We are not looking for a camping rig because as the boss said:shemademe_smilie: "I am not sleeping in a tent". So............. Let me know.:chat:

The best trailer is the one that fits your needs and the price you want to pay. There are almost infinite possibilities. For my money, though, the RT-622 is mighty hard to beat. It looks great, matches the Spyder, has marvelous independent suspension with coil-overs, and tows better than anything I have ever owned...and I own three trailers for the RTS alone.

Couldn't agree with you more Scotty. I love the 622 but since I only use trailer once or twice a year the
Spyder Lover sponsor USA minitrailer Nomad model was a great alternative for me at one fourth the price
and it also pulls like its not there......very smooth

For me it's a Bushtec. I've pulled one for many years with my Harleys. Adjustable air ride suspension and 16 inch 6 ply tires. This trailer will not bounce, trust me, I've tried.
check out their web page. Bushtec.com. Lots of options.

plus one on Scotty's reply. We wanted a RT622 but at the time, any dealer near us wanted full msrp and we were hoping to save a few dollars. Found a good price on one on the other side of the USA but the dealer didn't want to work with us on our freight hauler. Ended up with a Bushtec Turbo 2+. Ordered new and paid up the ying yang to get it to Calif.. Should have paid full msrp for a RT622 as I think they hold a bit more then ours. Bushtec is nice but I don't care for having to carry a tube. Most bikes that pull Bushtec's I would imagine do not use tubes. (I may be wrong) Haven't heard if the RT622's use tubes???

Picture of our Bushtec.

I have a time out trailer , it opens up to a 14 by 5 got camper. Used it when we went to yellow stone and glacier nat'l park . Has a cut out on one side to use an A/C . Check out their web site !

The RT-622 uses 4.80x12 tubeless tires. Are you sure about the Bushtec? I didn't think anything with a high speed rating would have tube type tires anymore. :dontknow:

They are tubeless. 16" 6 ply. Mine pulled GREAT! Going to have to get one for the RT seeing as I sold my trailer with my Harley.

1+ for CaptBlack - I know several folks with those trailers - they look great, pull well, and don't leak. In addition, the rack on the top is a great place for rain gear...

I could never get past the $3,000+ for the Bushtech or BRP trailers - for occasional motorcycle use!!! Not from my checkbook, but perhaps cost is no big deal for you…..

Sorry Doc45 but thought I would just provide an update. The Bushtec IS a tube type. The tires do have tubes on our 2013 Turbo 2.
Here is a quote from Bushtec:

Directly from the Factory: Our tires are technically tubeless tires, but with cast wheels there are sometimes imperfections in the casting that can create leaks, in addition to the fact that having a tube is an additional safety measure to minimize flats or recover quickly from a flat. Running the tires tubeless on a forged rim should be ok, but we always recommend purchasing tubes.

I got my 622 from the dealer at around half price when I bought my Spyder. I really like it...tows like a dream and you can't feel it at all when you're on the road.

This seems to be boiling down to a discussion of buying the best trailer; or saving some money...
So it'll come down to the relative importance of those factors; the decision will be yours!
