• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Best key holder????? Need Ideas!!

I'm old school, and continue to use Lamont's IPS. I'm not sure he sells them anymore. I leave it right in the ignition; most people don't know what it is.

Same with me, and so far no problem with anyone even suspecting it's the ignition. Now, with that said, if I'm on a trip and staying in a hotel/motel, I take the key out at night.

Strongly recommend against that one unless you have DESS turned off. Looks like a very effective RFI shield for the chip embedded in the key. Just asking for trouble in a system already prone to be so.

I have a 2008GS. I don't think I remember that being a problem with the early spyders.

I'm curious. Do you say that b/c of how much metal is being used? If that's the case, Lamont's IPS had much more metal. I'm wondering if that's why he doesn't sell them anymore, unless I missed them on his site.

From Motorcycle Dave

All the others are great but some are very costly
$$$$$$$$$ 39.95 is a bit much for some people
mine are $9.95
Ask those that have them they work great and do not
give you trouble when in the ignition the key will fully engage
Call me to get yours.

Time will tell the tale...
After all: it's not a permanent attachment.
If there's a hint of difficulties: it gets pulled, and I break out the drill!

What color do you like? Just in case I have problems, it'll be a freebie to you. But, since the IPS, which is thicker metal wise, never presented a problem, I don't think this one will. Then again, I have a 2008.

Thanks everyone...I ended up going with the cheaper one from Lamonster...until someone comes out with a purple anodized one... LOL
