• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Best AIR BAG Safety option, I've ever seen hands down...

RELAX CRUSHER... let them :chat:

I suggested that Impact Jackets should take out an ad on this web site

Motza,

I'm with ya...didn't mean to come across too strong there...sorry...

Let's get Lamonster going with Charles and let's save some lives!!

Crusher still love ya... :agree:
The 2nd generation jackets sound so good, I just might want to jump off the roof of my house to see how well it works....
Charles might even put the "Spyder" logo on the jackets

That would be great...in my case, a yellow jacket with black and red 'spyder' lettering...

I spoke with Lamonster a little while ago...he'll get on it tomorrow...

I wonder if they use a helium cartridge instead if we could just float away from a crash? hmmmm...okay, maybe not!:2excited:

A guy I know at a customer site owns one. He rides a high-end crotch rocket and commutes from NY to CT. Well made, but much heavier than an armored jacket; extra material, canisters, etc. really added some substance.

Seems to make sense for two wheels, as there are many ways to get thrown. For the Spyder, tipping isn't a concern. So, what's the crash scenarios that you'd want to protect for? :dontknow: What would happen if this engages when you have a chance of recovering on three wheels? :dontknow:

My point is, before spending $$$ on a safety device made for two wheels someone should evaluate if it's practical (safe and useful) for a vehicle like the :spyder:

I realize it provides a level of safety... so would side panels, and calling the :spyder: a car... but is it practical for the :spyder:? :dontknow:

Here's my opinion from lots of years riding...

I agree we will never do a low-side on the Spyder. But, a high-side?... it will be extremely nasty including having the bike following you while doing flips. It will probably not be pretty.

I'm neither for - or against- the extra potential benefits... at this time. I certainly will keep an open mind, however, for new cutting-edge protection.

From the guy who has pushed it to the edge.

Crusher, any word on how The Boss made out with Impact Jackets?

See below: A fellow member here and Spyder website owner in Australia

"For the past couple of years Marion & I have been wearing "Hitair Shock Buffering System" jackets - basically a jacket with its own integral air bag system, as used by the Japanese motorcycle police. See a great video at
Leather is great when sliding along the bitumen but it does not do a lot when you encounter trees, road signs, armco or motor vehicles. You may want to have a look at www.hitairaustralia.com .?

No,

I spoke with him on Thursday and he was coming back from being out of town. He said he would call on Friday but I don't have an update as of yet...

Hopefully he'll contact the owner and set something up. The owner told me that he'd give a 10% discount to Spyderlovers.com board members being I told him that many of us would be interested in the product.

It'd be nice if we could put together a large order and perhaps, he could write 'spyder' on the jackets instead of 'pharoah'...

If Lamonster was busy/unable to contact him on Friday, then I'm sure he'll do it early in the week. If a 'sponsoring' deal cannot be arranged with impactjackets, I'm not sure where that leaves us...I'm sure many of us want the protective gear and perhaps if when we all order and tell him that we're from the board, that'll be good enough for him to extend a discount.

Let's see what Lamonster works out first...it'd be better if Lamonster gives the product his blessing as he does with other quality merchants here...

Sound like a plan, keep me in the loop.

Maybe instead of it saying Spyder, how about just having the "Y" logo. ( very understated )
Nice set up would be three different jackets; Red/Black, Yellow/Black/ Silver/Black
