• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Belt tensioner on RT

I just got done installing the belt tensioner I got from Capt. Jim on my Spyder RT. Just wanted to say if you were thinking about getting one of these things from him, he does top quality work and has a great product and sends excelent info with it. :firstplace: I have removed and replaced my cat. to reduce heat on my feet so I had all kinds of room to do this and it will fit PERFECT. If you still have your cat. it may be very difficult if not imposible. I will not say it can not be done as I have not tried it. Anything is possible if you want it bad enough. I have just seen several people ask if it could be done on an RT so I figured I would post my pics.

Great job! Thanks for the update!:2thumbs:

Thanks for the nice post, quite a few have gone out to RT owners, you're the first I've heard a report from, thanks so much! I will be joining the supporting vendors soon.

Here is a link to the tensioner on ebay. I hope this is OK, if it is not please let me know. Capt. Jim has them for $305.00 including shipping.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...0680156238&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWNX:IT
I ordered some 90 degree mandrel bent elbows from a guy who sells mistakes from an exhaust co. on eBay for $45.00 including shipping to make my cat. bypass (if you would decide to do this part).
I ordered an exhaust wrap kit that included 2" wrap, stainless steel ties, and silicone high temp paint to wrap my custom cat bypass on eBay for about $50.00 total.

So I guess I have about $400.00 in the tensioner and cat. bypass. That is a lot but if it makes my Spyder better for me then it is worth it. I will not have that belt vibration and greatly reduce the heat that transfers to your feet, especially your right one. If you want any details just ask.

why cant you use y-pipe from rs to replace cat :popcorn::popcorn:

The exhausts are not the same. You would have to refabricate the Y-pipe even if you had one. Starting from scratch let me make it exactly like I needed to. You could probably make one work if you had one but would cost more if you had to buy it. Just a guess but if you had one you may be able to use a muffler for an RS but NOT SURE so dont try it on my advice. I have never looked at an RS other than just the outside. The RT comes in at an angle from the cat. and the RS and GS come in to the muffler at 90 degrees, other than that I am not sure.

:agree:
Not even close to a bolt-up on a RS. But I haven't tried it so I could be wrong.

Will get you hooked up soon Bro. I'm looking forward to trying mine out but it's been too darn wet and cold here.

I hate to ask a dumb question but what are you getting ready to try. I am addicted to mods and read every mod post on here. Are you also making a cat bypass or are you putting a tensioner on yours? To my knoledge no one else has bypassed the cat but me. I am sure someone has done it and just not posted it.

well that's perfectly understandable, I'm in S.Fl, it's about 55 degrees, i feel for those of you that have to tuck yours in for the winter, must be all the sweeter come springtime! We'll get together after the new year. Man that cat sure looks tight from the pic's, if stripperkings runs good without the cat, somebody should market a " test pipe" like they make for the cars, seems like it would be a good seller, get rid of a lot of heat near the belt also. I have the warrior pipe, which i love, but has the cat inside, i could boil a pot of coffee on it.
