• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Belt Tension

ahh-cool

Based on my other posts you know I've been tinkering with the bike.
It just came out of 600 mile service before I bought it.
If I take the belt and pull it down without much pressure it will go below the belt guard.
I don't have a tool to measure the tension and was just wondering if this was about right?

Do you have an Apple device? If so read the following. Sent you a PM.

Stefan,
It was posted in here, that if you can give the belt about a ninety-degree twist with just two fingers; it's about right...
Whatever that works out to be...

Quick test..!!

if you can take two fingers and twist the belt in the middle more than 45* the belt is on the loose side. Do not find the strongest man in the house to try and break a record...:roflblack: Just a normal twist. This is not proof positive but works...

I use one of these - GATES Part # 91132 {#KR2} Belt Tension Gauge; 100-320 lbs only $12.00

I believe that is fine for pre 2013 Spyders, but 2013 and 14 have a different stronger gearbox and the belt tension is almost double that on pre2013 Spyders
