There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Belt info/spec

Dear spyders, :)

I plan to buy used spyder and replace rotax engine with electric one. I wish to keep the belt and rear sprocket and mount a smaller front sprocket directly to electric motor.
It would ideally have only15 teeth giving around 5.27:1 gear ratio. This would be perfect.

Now I need to know the pitch of the stock belt - this is the distance between two teeth on the belt. If someone is so kind to measure it and post the number it would really help me out.
And while you're at it - belt width would also be very useful in planning future moves.

Best regards,
W1

What are you going to use for storing power onboard? By removing the Rotax engine; will that open up enough room for your needs?

It looks like the distance leading edge to leading edge is 14 mm, and the width is 28 mm
A big Thank You!
I was trying to deduce the pitch from spyder pictures comparing to belt catalouges and indeed I was suspecting it could be something like 14 mm. Maybe 14M PowerGrip GT2 from Gates? Now I need to find a 15-teeth sprocket for 14mm pitched belt, smallest standard sprocket has 28 tooth ...

I plan to use about 15kWh of LiFePO4 batteries. Just removing the rotax probably won't open up enough space for all the cells so I'll put some of them in nice boxes on both sides of the rear wheel - where exhaust pipe used to be.

Does anyeone know the weight of the rotax?
50, 100, 150kg? Google found nothing :(
