• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Belt guard

Is there only one place to buy one ? I'm not crazy about it rubbing on anything, are the tolerances too tight ? Thanks.

Spyderpops is the one that sells the missing belt guard.

It comes with good directions but you need to be careful because there is not much space between the belt and the tire and it goes right in between. If you install it and it rub's on the tire just bend it out and heat it with a hair dryer to correct the spacing.

Not sure whos it was but know there was a belt tensioner that doubled as additional belt guard. Good luck with all you find

I wasn't there but I still care! POW /MIA VETS

Don't know. ..!!

Of anyone else. There were some diy'fers but none off the shelf. You can reshape it if it helps it fit better for you. You just have to get it right the first time. ..:lecturef_smilie:

:roflblack:Quoting myself for bump fyi the SMOOTHSPYDER belt tensioner is the one that doubles:firstplace: copy & paste from parts page:
Another new addition for the 10-12 RT's and 13-14 RS's is the Tensioner / Belt Guard Model. This model easily attaches to the rear shock mount and the large bracket effectively serves as a belt guard. No Drilling required.

It is not easy to get it right the first time. the location makes it hard to stab it in there just right. It has a double sided tape and once it touches the metal, it sticks instantly. You need to practice a time or 2 before attempting to sick it on just right. I was a little off and had to get the heat gun out to get it right in between.

I have a 014 ST limited. Sure looks like it has a belt guard on it from the factory. Does it need another one too?

The one you see is on the outside The rocks come from the inside. That side has none till you add the missing belt guard. It goes between the tire and the belt.

I just put spyderpop's missing belt guard on with no issues. It comes with a piece of cardboard on it that keeps the spacing so it's much harder to get it wrong.

The 'missing' guard is something I am very much considering since I'm in a more rural area and gravel roads are everywhere. But I'm not a DIY guy when it comes to mechanical stuff. Isn't Spyder Pops fairly close to the Dallas area? Does he install them if you show up on his doorstep? lol.

Thanks,
Joe

Don't know about the ST belt guard from Spyderpops but I put 2 on my RS and they both cracked within 9 months. When I posted this issue, a lot of RS owners said the same thing or the darn things just fell off.

SpyderPops is in Arkansas. He'll install them for you, but call him and make an appointment.

Don't throw the cardboard away like someone I know. Would have made spacing the guard lots easier.
