• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Belt Alingment

I have a 2012 RS and since it looks like spring is finally going to show up so I thought I'd start installing the accessories (farkles) I've purchased over the winter. So, I striped off the tupperware today, removed the frunk and the first thing I installed was the Baja Ron sway bar. While all the plastic was off I thought I'd inspect the bike well to make sure things are good to go this summer.

While looking at the belt and the sprocket that comes off the tranny I noticed something I thought was odd. The belt is pushed completely to one side of the small sprocket coming off the tranny. Pushed up to the outside edge to the point where they contact each other. It is within spec on the rear sprocket. It rides the inside on the rear sprocket but is 1mm off the edge and according to the manual that is OK. The manual doesn't say anything about the front sprocket. I did specifically ask the dealer to check the belt alignment on the first service because I had some vibration around 5800 RPM near my left side foot. He said it was all A-OK. Now after seeing the belt relationship to the front sprocket for myself I'm wondering if that is really the case.

Anyone have any thoughts, advice?

Little checking..!!

if while you are working on the roadster you pushed it back and forth the belt can move. You need to run it forward a ways to get the true position.I generally jack up the rear and spin the wheel. Your supposed to farkle during the winter and shop in the summer get a move on it...:roflblack::roflblack:

I use a belt dressing, I spray about 4 times 1 second bursts when the rear wheel is off the ground and moving. Let it sit for about 15 minutes. This stopped my belt from vibrating at highway speeds. I do this when I change my oil. That's IMHO.

Front pulley

Unless the front pulley is loose(inspect bolt and grab the pully to see if it is loose). If all is Ok there. You should not have to worry about where the belt rides on the front pulley. Because the engine is fitted with an alignment tool(which aligns that pulley) before the engine mounting bolts are torqued.
