• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Belt Alignment On Sprocket

On my 2012 RTS the belt on the rear sprocket is tracking straight, but is all the way in towards center against the sprocket lip on the inside. Is this placement correct. I have no belt wear on the inside. Just wondering where the belt should track on the rear sprocket.

Actually the belt shouldn't rub against the hub lip, should be a slight gap of 1 mm, like the width of a credit card and up to 5 mm as stated above. My 2015 RTS was also right up against the hub and was causing a rubbing sound and I adjusted to within specs.

BELT ALIGNMENT

I would bet if someone mounted a camera on the rear on the Spyder so the position of the belt could be observed for at least 5 miles, over various types of terrain................it would show that the BELT MOVES ALL OVER THE SPROKET ....continuously ... I know every time I stop and dis-mount ....and check it ....it has moved from the last position it was.........I do run my belt tension way below SPEC. ....But I also have No vibration ( and without any special anti-vibe device ).........Mike

I did run across a video on youtube of just that. Don't remember what model it was but it did show that the belt does wander a bit on the sprocket while the bike is in motion.

Fun with the belt.....

As stated...1-5mm gap between belt and sproket lip. Now if you run it backwards you may see it walk to the middle or more. You should keep that to a minimum...and double check as you torque the axle nut as it can change...:banghead::banghead:
