• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi Guys, just wanted to drop a line and say hello. Im currently the owner of a 08 Harley StreetGlide;wonderful riding motorcycle. However, this new spyder has really piqued my interest. Unfortunately, 2 bikes with payments is not in my forseeable future. Maybe some of you can chime in and tell your story of how trading in your motorcycle/recreational vehicle was a good or bad experience.. Im scared to think of the loss I am going to take if I do a trade-in. Anyways, love the forum and the support you show for each other.. Take care

Rob

welcome

Sorry, no insight on the trade-in question as I didn't have a vehicle to trade in.

Don't trade, sell. We had no problem selling two motorcycles to get the Spyder. The market (at least in Michigan) is very good for used bikes as people are looking for better mileage, or at least the chance to use that as an excuse so their wife will let them finally get one.

I sold a Boss Hoss to make room for the Spyder and I have no regrets. I'll have another V8 bike one day but the Spyder has scratched an itch I didn't even no I had. :doorag:

I remember way back when it was supposed to be your wife's ride. :D

Thanks for all the responses, I may just go ahead and sell privately and see where that gets me.

I sold my 06 FLHT privately and didn't take nearly the loss I would have on trade. Then turned around and traded my 08 KLR650 off on the Spyder, didn't take a loss at all on that one. I don't regret it at all, love my Spyder.

I traded in my softail for my :spyder:with no regrets! I had to trade because I wanted the Spyder so quickly, I didn't have time to sell. Harley wouldn't give me much for it - it was an 06 and since the 07's and up came out with a bigger engine and another gear, mine wasn't worth much anymore. I did get a great trade w/ the Spyder dealer though and it was worth getting my :spyder:. I ride it more than I ever rode my Harley. I don't even mind the rain as much - I hated my Harley in the rain.

That was quite a blow to us 06 owners when they came out with the 96 and 6 -speed. Can't say that I miss my HD in the rain either, not only is the handling better on the :spyder:but I don't feel the need to wash it everytime it gets wet. Which right now is just about everyday in Florida.
