Keep in mind this was created for the rider who wants just enough protection for their riding style without covering the complete knee panel area. We were trying to create a cool stylish look as well as add protection to a specific area without overpowering the lines of the bike. For those who want more protection we have our full knee panel kits which are available in all of our high performance materials or transparent paint protection film. (see photos & link text below) The cool thing about these new Knee Protector kits is they are available in our Domed Polyurethane option so they have a profile to add that 3D look on the side of the bike and will offer even a bit more protection. We are hoping to have these new Knee Protector options live on our website later today. We really appreciate everyone's feedback and support.

I realised from early on when I got my F3-S that the finish on the tank side panels are vulnerable to wear from the side seams of my jeans where the knees touch them.

I was unaware that stick-on protective flashes were available (as spoken of in this thread) so I made my own very successfully. I bought a roll of 'Fablon,' not sure if you have this product under this name in North America but I'm sure there is something similar. Its a crystal clear (colours also available) shiny adhesive plastic, very thin but strong. I cut out two circular pieces about 5 inches diameter, sat in my usual riding position on the Spyder to see where my knees touched the panels and applied my patches. Job done.:clap:


Virtually invisible so it does not interfere with the original finish. Its quick, cheap and easy to do and if it gets wore or scratched or was accidentally applied in the wrong place then it is easy to peel off and cut new ones and stick on again.
