• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Good morning all I have a good friend that'
is worried about how tight the drive belt is
he works for a major aircraft bizz .hes saying the with two
up the bearing and are the trans unit is going to go out early
my bike is a 2014 can am rt/s with the 1330 In it . Is their anything to
be worried about thanks for all your help

In my not so humble opinion on this his contention pegs the BS meter. Think about it, why would BRP design a transmission, yes its a Rotax but BRP owns it, for a Spyder designed for two up riding that would be assured of failing faster than if ridden just solo.

:agree:

Ask Ann about her 1330. She's got over 80,000 miles on it; towing a loaded 622 most of the time.
Lots of folks can be "experts"; if you want to believe them enough!

So because he is in the aircraft business, that makes him an expert on Spyders. Has he even checked the belt tension? How did he know how tight it is? How does he know what the spec is from BRP? Where is his certified technician status from? You know what I can say I know all about airplane design also, especially after I have stayed in a Holiday Inn Express. Lol
Just enjoy the ride! Have your dealer check the belt tension if you're that worried!

Relax...

As long as you keep the tension as recommended you will have no problem. Some find staying on the lower side is more to their liking and BRPadjusted the tensions on the earlier models so they know what they are doing....And the company makes some fine aircraft engines as well he should know that.....
