There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Like others have said, I'm glad you're OK. As you go through the situation in your mind, you can rehearse what you would have done differently, like calling 911 before speaking out . . Or not speaking out at all. Then maybe the cops would be there when the perp comes back out. Unfortunately, the same situation will probably never happen again. But I believe that being mentally prepared will help, even so.

I conceal carry, but is that an option in NY ? These people are more and more bold every day, that's why I choose to be able to protect my family. This happened to a LEO I know. He came back home to get something he forgot and found 3 drug addicts in his house. They admitted to watching him leave before they entered. Very scary and bold... You got to be tuff to be Stupid!

Upstate New York's permits do not specify method of carry. They just state that the "permit to carry", has been granted.
