• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Be careful- GS/RS Front shock adjustment

Just a word of caution, I adjusted my stock front shock springs (GS model) to a stiffer setting. When I adjusted one the tang on the adjuster just snapped right off. The manual doesnt say that you have to jack it up to adjust, but as a precaution I would not adjust the fronts without jacking up to unload the spring as much as possible. The preload adjusters are too sloppy on the shock and the adjuster material is junk.

See ya,

This does not suprise me. I have adjusted them on my GS 3 times in the past 2 weeks & can see the tangs on the part that is rotated are getting rounded off. I will jack it up if I do it again. It is "very" hard to rotate without an extension on the tool if the Spyder is not jacked.

This is a known issue with the GS (not sure about the RS)...cheap pot metal adjusters. My dealer told me to jack up the front end and spray lots of WD-40 on them before adjusting. I didn't even bother...I now have RT shocks on the front...they're built much better.

Adjusted mine yesterday. The wrench that came with the tool kit did not work. It kept slipping off and rounded the edge of the tool off. Had the spyder jacked up to take the tension off the shocks. I had a real spanner wrench at work. A solid tool that is hardened slightly. Made the shock adjustment a piece of cake. Applied a little grease to the lobes (grease doesn't run or drip and wipes off easily) a couple of turns and I was done.

SHOCK ADJUSTMENT

In addition to jacking :ani29: up to release tension, squirt household dish washing soap on it rather than wd-40...it's more slippery and washes off with the hose.....Mike.....you can also put on the new rings which are steel from procaliber.com, ---about $12.....

It is a known issue for sure. GS/RS, same thing so same problem until they started producing the steel parts.

If you don't jack it up and use care you're chances of breakage are very good. A temporary lubricant is also a help, especially if you're at or going to the highest setting (as mentioned above).

Its funny.....when I bought my Spyder and I was just surf'n the net looking for accessories I ran across those steele after market spring adjusters. I thought to myself....who in the heck would buy them?? how could the factory ones be so bad that it would be worth bothering with them......now I know.....
