• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can anyone tell me which of the battery tenders on the market is the best to use in my 2012 spyder rt-s se5? Thanks.

I'm not qualified to answer that question, but Cycle Gear is selling the Superline DuraBoost Battery Maintainer 750 for 50% off in their stores right now. Normally sells for $29.99, on sale for $14.99. Again, I don't know if its any good or appropriate for your use case, but I thought I'd pass it along.

I am a big fanboy of the Battery Tender brand and it's the only kind I'll use.
I have multiple Battery Tender Jr.'s that I use on my spyder and all my jetskis (3 total). Have used them for years. They are simple, inexpensive, and do what they should. ;)

Any one rated at 1.5 amp, And most important has an float feature [maintainer]
There all good, But like Gas everyone has their favorite brand.

:agree: Have the same, battery tender jr, they work so I just stick with them.

Battery Tender Jr.s are in my stable for years. I put one on each bike when they are ready for the "big sleep". Leave them plugged in all the time. Bikes usually start on the first try 6 months later. Oct--Feb is my winter down time. Snow--to--Snow end.

Here's a link to excellent information on battery charging from Motorcycle Consumer News (Fred Rau writes for this magazine).

I use the Yuasa trickle chargers myself for all three of our motorcycles. They were the highest rated smart charger some years back by MCN. Yuasa also makes a good percentage of motorcycle batteries.

I have my 2012 CanAm Spyder RT-S SM5; Bayliner Boat; Yamaha WaveRunner; 2005 Grasshopper Zero Turn Mower; and Huskee Lawn Tractor (54" cut) to worry about so I have bought these in the past.

Don't be fooled by the SALE PRICE. I think that is pretty much their everyday price in the store (Columbus, Ohio - we have 2 Harbor Freight stores in town). These are always on sale for $5.49.

The link so you can read the reviews from others can be found HERE

If I only had 1 or 2 units, I might have bought something with a better reputation. But with everything I have to manage, I went with these and so far they have worked fine over the years.

I use Battery Tender Plus, Battery Tender Jr. (a little weak for the large Spyder AGM battery), Accumate, Optimate, or Xtreme. There are other good ones out there, and a lot of bad ones. Use a name brand maintainer (not a charger), made for motorcycle use, preferably with a maximum ouput of 1.25-1.50 amps. JMHO
