• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Battery tender question

I will be hooking up a Battery Tender Jr. to my 2014 RTS, and I have a cigarette lighter adapter coming in the next few days. I know I have to move the fuse in slot 6 to slot 7, my question is, in the spring do I need to move that fuse back to slot 6?
I'm sure this has been addressed before but I could not find an exact answer.

Thanks in in advance

I think it would be personal preference. Switching the fuse changes the outlet to constant hot vs. hot when the key is on. So you just have to remember that if you plug something in it could run your battery down it you forget to unplug the item.

I moved mine over into "7", for Battery Tender duty, and will move it back into "6" for the riding Season.

My reason: I hook my XM radio into it for the Season, and this way it shuts down, once the key is turned to "off".

Good to know.. I have a car Sirrus sattilite docking station, going to think on how I can maybe getting that hooked up somehow over the winter.

Depends..!

If you don't use it for other things then you can leave it but if you plug other things to itchange it back. I like to be able to charge things while not ryding so leave it be....now that I have the antigravity charger I really don't need it...

You said you have a cigarette lighter adaptor coming. If it's the one that goes with the Battery Tender, you might want to consider doing what I did. Makes everything real easy....

On my RT, I installed JT's Accessory Dash Mount Kit, and so far I am using it for a RAM X-Mount for my phone and the Battery Tender 12v accessory plug. (Picture here.) I ran the wire down behind the front panels (had to temporarily remove a couple of them to hide the wire) and into the battery compartment and plugged that into the fused lead from Battery Tender that you screw onto the battery terminals. Then I got a Battery Tender 12v male adaptor. So now, when I trickle charge the battery, I just need to plug that into the cig lighter adaptor on my dash. I never need to swap any fuses (I leave the outlet in the trunk in the switched mode), and I've now got fused power on the dash to charge my phone, my Sena Bluetooth headsets, run anything else, AND keep the Spyder battery charged.
