There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Battery Tender help needed

I tried to take out the frunk today to get to the battery... It looks like i have to take off the service panel above it.. is that right? if so ho because it felt like i was going to break it.. is there another way to use the tender? Sorry i have a lot a questions just new to can am and want to do things the right way.:opps:

I have a 14 RTL. I decided to by an extra battery tender connector line, and after cutting a small hole in the frunk liner, connected the tender charging cable directly on the battery posts. By doing this I can leave the cable connected to the battery and plug in the opposite end to the tender when it's time to charge. Very easy to do

To get to the battery in a F3, open the frunk. To the aft of the frunk space is a panel. Pop it off and there is your battery.

I ran the wires of the tender from the battery to the oil service panel. Open the panel up and plug the tender in.

The service panel is a little tough to get out. Try pulling it straight out on one side then move to the other side......its held down in those 2 spots. Next remove the 4 pins (or whatever it's called) then lift up the bucket. I ran mines through the frunk.

Many RT owners run their 12 volt accessory outlet "always hot" and plug their
battery tender in there.
I don't know if the F3 even has an outlet, but if it DOES....

Don't know about the F3, but as mentioned that is the easiest way to make it work on an RT with no cutting drilling or tools required...

I also went the route of drilling a small hole through the frunk liner. If you cut the tender wires (re-splice them later), you can get by with drilling a much smaller hole. The tender is now very accessible.

I have a f3s and the battery tender plug is already installed on mine. It is located under the top plastic panel that you need to pull off. its on the left side by the radiator fluid bottle. let me know if you can't find it. Here is a picture of the plug that is already on mine for the battery tender to plug into. Sorry the pic is posted sideways.

Battery Tender Routing

Can anyone post pics of how they ran there wires and the hook up? Did you run it as a permanent piece?

I removed the frunk tub, drilled a 1/2 hole in the tub, put a rubber grommet in it to protect wire from chaffing, ran the battery tender connection thru and connected it directly to the battery. 30 minute job. Works great. Very simple job! Good Luck!:doorag:
